My Journey with Access2Success in Sweden // Access2Success

The Access2Success project aims to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that diverse communities, especially the project’s target groups: migrants, social workers, youth workers, and educators, are not left behind in the digital revolution. Its mission is to empower the target groups with essential skills and knowledge in digital competencies, digital literacy, and digital citizenship, thereby fostering an environment of equality and opportunity in the digital world.

In the framework of the project, an international mobility in the format of a Training Course (TC) took place in Orrefors, Sweden, between the 3rd and 11th of June. Known for its historical significance and beautiful landscapes, this place provided the perfect backdrop for a week of learning, sharing, and growing, alloweing us to focus deeply on our activities while also enjoying the natural beauty around us.

The TC goals were to create a platform where participants from diverse backgrounds could come together to share knowledge, develop new digital skills, and collaborate on initiatives regarding the topics. The TC included specific objectives such as:

  • to connect and upskill participants engaged in Digital Competences (DigiComp) educational services provision;
  • to enhance their knowledge about the topics of DigiComp, digital safety, information literacy and combat of disinformation and fake news;
  • to explore the impact of AI on societies and democratic participation;
  • and to equip participants with a set of practical and transferable non-formal educational tools.

This mobility event was an intercultural experience, with 20 participants from 10 different countries, which brought a wealth of perspectives and experiences, making our discussions vibrant and our collaborations dynamic. The central theme of this mobility was ” Digital Competences.” Throughout the week, we engaged in workshops and seminars that explored various aspects of digital competencies.  Experts from different fields shared their insights, and we had the opportunity to brainstorm and develop our projects aimed at addressing real-world challenges.

One of the highlights of the week was the hands-on workshop on AI, where we worked in teams to design solutions for pressing AI issues. Another memorable moment was the cultural night, where each participant showcased their country’s traditions, cuisine, and music. It was a celebration of our diversity and a reminder of the beauty that comes from embracing different cultures.

Reflecting on this incredible experience, I can truly say that Access2Success has been transformative. Here’s a personal quote that captures my sentiments:

“Participating in Access2Success in Sweden was a journey of growth and enlightenment. The diverse perspectives and innovative ideas we shared have inspired me to think more critically about digital learning and AI and my role in promoting positive change. This week has not only broadened my horizons but also empowered me to be a catalyst for innovation in my community.”
